DUTY SCIENTIST REPORT– Hans Schwaiger
+ GREAT SITKIN (Orange/Watch):
• No change. Reston reports on Nov. 13 and 17 each indicate ~5 meters of advancement southwest to southeast from the vent.
• Seismicity has been quiet.
• No activity observed in satellite and web camera views all week.
+ SHISHALDIN (Yellow/Advisory):
• No change. Explosion signals continue in seismic and infrasound. Steaming from the summit throughout the week.
• There were four low-confidence SO2 detections over the past week.
+ CNMI/AHYI (Yellow/Advisory):
• Possible Wake Is. detection on Nov. 13. Underwater plume seen in satellite on Friday.
+ OTHER ACTIVITY OF NOTE:
• Strong LP at Korovin on Sunday triggered RSAM alarm; no infrasound detected.
+ FIELD WORK:
• None currently planned
NET OPS/FIELDWORK: Max Enders
+ NETWORKS:
• Color Code:
o Great Sitkin – All stations working
o Shishaldin – All stations working.
o Out –
--Adak – Utility power outage in Adak started at started on ~2025-11-15 11:00:59 UTC. AVO production equipment running on battery backup. DC backup failed at ~2025-11-16 07:00 UTC, and has been restored thanks to assistance from Tom Spitler in Adak. TDX has not updated as of this morning, and equipment is running on battery backup only.
-- Katmai Network – Data from stations KABU, KAB2, KAVE and MGLS that are acquired via the KABU repeater are not coming in very well. Presumably, rime icing on yagi antennas at KABU or KEL. -- Peulik Network – Icing at PLWL, PLK3 and PLBL last week caused intermittent data gaps for stations PLK5, PLK3 and R17L.
-- Cleveland Network - Short duration receive facility outages last week were caused by ongoing utility maintenance. Matt Scott with Optimera says that this work is now completed and there shouldn't be any more outages related to this work after today.
• Single Station Issues:
o Iliamna – ILLG out due to telemetry issue, likely a broken radio antenna.
o Shishaldin – SSBA/AV38 and ISNN/AV38 low power, GNSS powered off at both stations to conserve power for seismic data.
o Westdahl – WECS seismic offline to conserve power for GNSS and radios.
o Akutan -LVA out due to low voltage.
o Okmok – OKAK and OKWE no telemetry.
o Bogoslof – BOGO completely out last week.
o Korovin – All stations online, but KOSE and KONE with real time seismic gaps.
o Adak – Infrasound element 6 is not working.
• Overall - twice-daily kicks continue to affect all channels acquired directly to Grace Hall. It appears GNSS data at Edgecumbe has been out since 11/14.
