(11) Volcanic Activity Summary:According to data by Tokyo VAAC and KVERT, the explosive eruption of Chicurachki volcano began plobably on 18:30 UTC on 28 January, 2023. The explosions sent ash up to 3 km a.s.l., and ash plume extended for 75 km to the southeast of the volcano. The explosive eruption of the volcano continues intermittently. KVERT continues to monitor Chikurachki volcano.

An eruptive activity of the volcano is observing. Ash explosions up to 6 km (19,700 ft) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect low-flying aircraft.
