Not all of these volcanoes had eruptions in historical time, however they are potentially active and therefore are of concern to aviation. Ash explosions up to 10-15 km (32,800-49,200 ft) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect international and low-flying aircraft. A growth of the lava dome continues, a strong fumarolic activity, and an incandescence of the lava dome and hot avalanches accompanies this process. A danger of ash emission up to 6 km (19,700 ft) a.s.l. at any time is remains. Ongoing activity could affect low-flying aircraft. A moderate activity of the volcano continues. According to satellite data by KVERT, explosions sent ash up to 6 km a.s.l. on 25 October, ash cloud drifted for 230 km to the east and later southeast of the volcano. A strong ashfall was noted at Severo-Kurilsk.
