Not all of these volcanoes had eruptions in historical time, however they are potentially active and therefore are of concern to aviation. Ash explosions up to 16,400-19,700 ft (5-6 km) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect low-flying aircraft. A moderate eruptive activity of the volcano continues. According to satellite data, a moderate explosive activity of the volcano renewed from 28 April. Ash explosions sent ash up to 5.5 km a.s.l., ash plumes drifted for about 150 km on 28 April and 02-03 May to the north-east and south-east from the volcano, respectively. A moderate explosive activity of the volcano continues. According to visual data by volcanologists from Severo-Kurilsk, explosions sent ash up to 2.8 km a.s.l. on 01-03 May.
