Not all of these volcanoes had eruptions in historical time, however they are potentially active and therefore are of concern to aviation. Ash explosions up to 32,800-49,200 ft (10-15 km) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect international and low-flying aircraft. A growth of the lava dome continues, a strong fumarolic activity sometimes with some amount of ash, and an incandescence of the dome blocks and hot avalanches accompanies this process. Ash explosions up to 16,400-23,000 ft (5-7 km) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect low-flying aircraft. A moderate explosive eruption of the volcano continues, the Strombolian and gas-steam activity were noted all week. The number of hot avalanches descending along all the slopes of the volcano continues to increasing. The Vulcanian activity was noted on 19 March, an ash plume extended to the east of the volcano. According to visual data by volcanologists from Severo-Kurilsk, gas-steam bursts containing small amount of ash up to 2.5 km a.s.l. were observed on 13 and 17 March; clouds drifted to the north-east and south-east of the volcano.
