Satellite data by KVERT shows the explosive eruption lasted from 19:30 UTC on 23 June till 09:00 UTC on 24 June. Explosions sent ash up to 4.5 km a.s.l., and the ash plume and later ash cloud moved for about 786 km to the southeast of the volcano on 23-24 June. KVERT continues to monitor Chikurachki volcano.\n\nA gas-steam activity of the volcano continues. Ash explosion hazard up to 6 km (19,700 ft) a.s.l. remains.
