Not all of these volcanoes had eruptions in historical time, however they are potentially active and therefore are of concern to aviation. Ash explosions up to 10-15 km (32,800-49,200 ft) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect international and low-flying aircraft. A growth of the lava dome continues, a strong fumarole activity, and an incandescence of the lava dome, explosions, and hot avalanches accompanies this process. Ash explosions up to 12 km (39,400 ft) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect international and low-flying aircraft. The eruptive activity of the volcano continues. Satellite data by KVERT showed: the explosive activity of the volcano with ash removal from 4 to 8 km a.s.l. was noted on 29-31 July, and on 01-02, and 04 August. Ash clouds moved for 230 km to the southeast, east and south of the volcano. Ash explosions up to 6 km (19,700 ft) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect low-flying aircraft and airport of Severo-Kurilsk. A moderate eruptive activity of the volcano continues. According to visual data by volcanologists from Severo-Kurilsk, explosions sent ash up to 4.5 km a.s.l., ash clouds moved to the different directions from the volcano.
