Not all of these volcanoes had eruptions in historical time, however they are potentially active and therefore are of concern to aviation. Ash explosions up to 32,800-49,200 ft (10-15 km) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect international and low-flying aircraft. A growth of the lava dome continues, a strong fumarolic activity sometimes with some amount of ash, and an incandescence of the eastern part of the lava dome and hot avalanches accompanie this process. Ash explosions up to 19,700-23,000 ft (6-7 km) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect low-flying aircraft. A moderate explosive-effusive eruption of the volcano continues, the Strombolian and gas-steam activity with some amount of ash is observing. The lava flow continues to move along Apakhonchich chute on the southeastern volcanic flank. Ash explosions up to 19,700-23,000 ft (6-7 km) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect low-flying aircrafts. According to satellite data by KVERT, the explosive eruption of the volcano began at 02:00 UTC - explosions sent ash up to 6 km a.s.l. Ash plume extended for 380 km to the southeast of the volcano; and later ash cloud 60x30 km in size was detected in 530 km to the southeast of the volcano. Ash explosions up to 19,700 ft (6 km) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect low-flying aircraft and airport of Severo-Kurilsk. A moderate explosive eruption of the volcano continues. According to visual data by volcanologists from Severo-Kurilsk, explosions sent ash up to 3.5 km a.s.l. all week; ash clouds drifted to the north, southeast, and northeast of the volcano; ashfalls were noted at Severo-Kurilsk on 20-22 October. Ongoing activity could affect low-flying aircraft. According to data by Tokyo VAAC, the strong explosive eruption of the volcano began at 20:22 UTC. Satellite data by KVERT showed the eruptive cloud rose up to 9 km a.s.l. The large ash cloud 200x100 km in size was divided on two clouds, which moved to the north-west and south-east up to 811 km from the volcano over time on 21-22 October.
