I am a student at Savannah College of Art and Design. I am currently producing a senior thesis short film, Views, for my fellow student, Giulia Jimenez. "VIEWS" is a short film about Lani who goes to an emerging volcanic island near Iceland to see the lava for herself. Being set on a volcano, it's a story about the need for human connection and finding self-fullfilment. We are so passionate about this script, and after seeing your Webcams, especially https://avo.alaska.edu/webcam/webcam_multi.php?cam%5B%5D=Redoubt+-+Hut&cam%…, we were really excited to find something that fits Giulia's vision so well. We were wondering if we might use some of that footage in our student film? We would of course credit Alaska Volcano Observatory. This film is one of the top films in the SCAD senior capstone project, and with as many international participants (Venezuelan, French, Icelandic), this film is going to go to festivals around the world. I am teaching a class that deals with the outside agencies the FAA interfaces with for flight safety, and I always include AVO in that part of the class. Last spring, we actually came and got a tour with you, which was fascinating. In the past, I have also had AVO employees come and speak with my class (Tina was amazing). So I am writing to see if I could get either a tour this spring, or a guest speaker to come and address my class. This would be on Friday March 30 from 11 AM to 1 PM approximately. Re: Shishaldin Volcano location

Hello William - I just double-checked the Shishaldin location given in the Daily Update, and it plots correctly at the summit of Shishaldin (Shishaldin Volcano is Mount Shishaldin, yes.) The Daily Update gives the lat/long in degrees, minutes, seconds format. If you just copy and paste it whole into google maps, it plots correctly. But if you take out the degree, minutes, seconds symbols and try to represent these numbers in decimal degrees, the point plots in the ocean south of Shishaldin. High risk shop stock and goods are those that attract thieves and are expensive to replace. Examples of high risk stock items are electronic equipment, cigarettes, and tobacco, designer clothing, computers and digital equipment, software, computer games and consoles, drugs pharmacy and medicines, watches and jewellery, mobile phones and radios, photographic equipment, power tools, TVs, DVDs, CDs and Wines and Spirits. If your shop has high risk stock you can reduce the cost of your premiums by having adequate security in place. This includes an insurance company approved burglar and fire alarm, window grills, shutters and bars, CCTV and sprinklers. Many shop insurers will only offer stock cover if the minimum levels of security are in place for all shops, regardless of the stock contents held. A lot of insurers may offer further large discounts to the premium if the shop owner lives on or above the premises and is there at night. Shops by their very nature deal with members of the public and a good insurance policy will usually contain liability cover as standard. This should include Public Liability of up to ?2,000,000 for any one claim by a member of the public who may suffer loss or injury visiting the shop.
