Good morning again, Sherman, The Islands of the Four Mountains are indeed a beautiful and geologically interesting area. Unfortunately, for our research there, we have a vessel contracted for seagoing approaches, or a helicopter chartered to fly our scientists to locations of interest. It would be impossible for us to know what commercially available transport could take you to the area. AVO does not visit the area in person very often. We primarily observe the volcanic activity through remote means like satellites, seismic sensors, infrasound detection, and webcams. Good luck in your studies, the University of Washington has a fine Earth Sciences program. Yours, AVO Hi! I am Sherman, a 15 year old volcano geek from Washington state. I have been obsessed with the islands of four mountains, primarily Chuginadak and Carlisle for some time, years now. Since I was 9 I admired the beauty of this place, the amazing science behind it. I dream about this place. I know about the possible supervolcano, and this only sparks my curiosity more. I plan to go to college at the University of Washington, Seattle, but want to know, how can I get to these places as soon and safe as possible. I know I seem like just another curious kid, but I most certainly am not. This trip is my biggest goal in life. I am so touched by this place, it hurts. Thanks, Sherman.
