Hello Ronald - Makushin has active fumaroles - in certain atmospheric conditions the degassing is more visible than other times. We do not keep a log of which days it is visible as whether or not they are visible to us is influenced more by atmospheric changes (humidity, cloud cover, etc) than by changes at the volcano. Here are photos in our image database for Makushin 2019, and you can see that the steaming is typical and on-going. https://avo.alaska.edu/searches/image_search_results.php?volcano=ak188&year%5B%5D=2019&type=&caption=&lastname=&firstname=&recent=&limit=50 Thank you, Cheryl -- I would like to know if you keep track if a volcano is just venting hot gases. I would particularly like to know about the Mahushin volcano and if it was venting any hot gas in October 2019 and if so what days?
