Hi Madison- Sorry to be delayed in responding to you! The page we have on Spurr Volcano explains most of what you will need for your research: http://www.avo.alaska.edu/volcanoes/volcinfo.php?volcname=Spurr Additional information may be found in the references cited to the left of the webpage. If you don't succeed in finding the information you are after, feel free to write back. In terms of your specific question about the "most destructive" eruption at Spurr-- do you mean in terms of human infrastructure, or in terms of havoc wreaked to the volcano edifice and surrounding land? If you mean the latter, then the caldera-forming eruption mentioned in the description of Spurr was likely the most destructive. In terms of human-related damage, Spurr is far enough from infrastructure that great amounts of damage have not been caused by recent eruptions. I hope that helps. Could you let me know on what date was the most ditructive eruption of this particular volcano? Any other info would be very helpful, thanks.
