Hello Glenn - I talked with the man who took the photo in question - he's a very respected Alaskan volcanologist - and he says that it's from the Kupreanof area, a little further to the SW. The general area of Kupreanof has some very spectacular peaks and plugs. Thank you for your interest! -Cheryl Cameron -------- Glenn Erickson wrote: In the Volcano Search area of the AVO site, a picture of the peak of Kupreanof (July 1988) is very similar to a picture of the peak of Isanotski (July 2010). Could it be that the later picture identity is based on better information and they are actually the same peak? Thanks for any help.
