Hello Javier - The US Board on Geographic names assigns all official place names for features within the United States. They've designated Cleveland as "Mount Cleveland." In English, if we wish to refer to Cleveland as a volcano, we call it "Cleveland volcano" with a lowercase v, to indicate that the volcano part is a description and not part of the official place name. Hope this is helpful, Cheryl -------- Javier Montiel wrote: Hello, I am working on a translation to Spanish referencing the mount Cleveland in your area. I have been researching for an official name in Spanish, so far I have seen both Monte Cleveland and volcán Cleveland; however I have seen more references as volcán Cleveland. Can you please confirm this information? Than you for your time. -- Cheryl Cameron Geologist, Alaska Volcano Observatory Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys voice: 907-451-5012 fax: 907-451-5050
