Hello Emily - Alaska volcanoes are not like Hawaii - ours tend to erupt explosively for minutes to hours, rather than a lava flow that can be observed for weeks to months. Although we have three volcanoes at elevated color code (Cleveland, Semisopochnoi, and Great Sitkin - click the links from our home page https://www.avo.alaska.edu ) they are quite remote, the weather is often poor, and the eruptions are intermittent. Best wishes on your project, Cheryl Cameron -------- Emily Vaughan Williams wrote: Hello there, I hope you are well, and happy 4th July. I'm assistant producing a live wildlife documentary series which will air on National Geographic next summer. My production company is called Plimsoll Productions, we are the makers of a series you may have seen 'Yellowstone Live II' which aired last weekend, also on Nat Geo. I am looking to feature a breadth of animal and landscape stories from the state, and I wonder whether there are any volcanoes in Alaska which regularly erupt, and could possibly be filmed (safely!) live? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
