Hello Alex. Hayes -- see this recent publication: https://www.avo.alaska.edu/pdfs/cit9161.pdf Hayes has some well described tephra deposits at about 3700 ybp, and a tephra layer possibly as young as 500-1000 ybp. Bona-Churchill (Cleveland is in the Aleutians, far away): Mt. Churchill is the source of the widely-distributed and important marker bed White River Ash. (A.D. 150 and 500 and A.D. 803 or 1147 cal. yr B.P.) There is quite a lot in the scientific literature on the White River Ash - see Churchill's bibliography here: https://www.avo.alaska.edu/volcanoes/volcbib.php?volcname=Churchill,%20Mt Mt. Churchill is an exception to the general pattern of older ages in the Wrangells as you move east. We know less about Bona, and it is largely ice-covered. Thank you, Cheryl -------- Alex Gimarc wrote: Howdy - Do you guys have an estimate of ages of Hayes Volcano north of Mount Spurr and Mount Bona - Cleveland? Given the Bona - Cleveland volcano is associated with the Wrangell volcano field, I am guessing it is in the range of 5 million years or so, but can't find anything with an actual number / estimate. I cannot find anything about Hayes, but given its proximity to Spurr, I would guess that it is around the same age. Thanks for any suggestions.
