Hello Gideon, For more information on the Windy Creek ashflow, try these references: Stevens, D.P., 2012, Pre-1912 glacial and volcanic history near Windy Creek, Katmai National Park and Preserve, Alaska: in Winfree, Robert (project lead), Katmai Science Studies: Alaska Park Science Journal, v. 11, n. 1, p. 46-51, available online at http://www.nps.gov/akso/nature/science/ak_park_science/volume_11_issue_1.cfm . Fierstein, Judy, 2007, Explosive eruptive record in the Katmai region, Alaska Peninsula: an overview: Bulletin of Volcanology, v. 69, n. 5, p. 469-509, doi:10.1007/s00445-006-0097-y. Hildreth, Wes, and Fierstein, Judy, 2003, Geologic map of the Katmai volcanic cluster, Katmai National Park, Alaska: U.S. Geological Survey Miscellaneous Investigation Series Map I 2778, unpaged, 1 sheet, scale 1:63,360. Prior to the 1912 eruption, there was no volcano at Novarupta, and Mount Katmai did have a differently shaped summit. This publication has more information: https://pubs.usgs.gov/pp/1791/ and you can see pre-1912 Katmai here: https://pubs.usgs.gov/pp/1791/ Best wishes on your studies, AVO Dear AVO, I am trying to better understand Katmai/Novarupta and the VTTS. I have two questions. Are there any maps/papers/books from the 22.5ka Windy Creek Ashflow i.e the primal/second VTTS? 2nd are there any maps/papers/books of what Novarupta looked like pre-1912, was it a conventional stratovolcano? Kind regards and have a nice weekend, Gideon Nebelsick https://www.linkedin.com/in/gideon-j-f-nebelsick-6a1236214
