Hi Robert! Yes, we really appreciate the historical photo archive at Vilda - and use it for quite a few volcanoes! The historical photos to us are invaluable for things like determining previous eruption styles, verification of activity/no activity, and untangling historical reports (was it *really* Isanotski? nope - Shishaldin!) You've got wonderful photos of Veniaminof, Shishaldin, Okmok, Novarupta, and other eruptions, also. Several years ago I went through the process to get permission to use some of them on AVO's website, but was unable to get permission for most of them. If it's easier now, please let me know. Thank you! cheryl cameron -------- Robert Forshaw wrote: Dont know if historical images from that region are helpful or interesting to you but there are a number of them on our website vilda.alaska.edu http://vilda.alaska.edu/cdm/ref/collection/cdmg11/id/459 -- Cheryl Cameron Geologist, Alaska Volcano Observatory Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys voice: 907-451-5012 fax: 907-451-5050
