Dear Ms. Needom, Thank you so much for sharing your Aunt's photographs with us! We always appreciate images of Alaskan eruptions. We have the scans you sent to our Scientist in Charge, Michelle Coombs, but if you are willing to send the actual prints that would be really fantastic! It's of timely interest as Great Sitkin had a series of small explosions in 2018 and 2019. May we upload them to our public image database? Would you like your Aunt's name and the photographer's name attached to them, if so? if you mail them to me, I'll take good care of them - and can send them back after I scan them, if you'd like (if so, give me a return address in the envelope). Thank you again, Cheryl Cheryl Cameron Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys 3354 College Road Fairbanks, AK 99709 -------- Susan L Needom wrote: I have four photos of the eruption. In 1974 my Aunt worked as a Librarian on the naval base. A friend gave her a copy of his photos that he took when he was out photographing the landscape. The volcano began to erupt as he was taking his photographs. My Aunt lived to be 100 yrs old. She gave the photos to me around 2000 and asked that I give them to someone who might want them.I will be glad to mail them to you. Send me the address and I will package them safely and mail them to you.
