Spur Message: At approximately 5:15 p.m.AST, Jan 25, 2014 I observed a cloud bank over Mt. Spur with a pencil thin cloud projecting vertically above the cloud bank (like a contrail of a missile)rising approximately 15000+ feet. There was blue sky above it and over a time frame of approximately 20 minutes the pencil thin (vertical contrail) expanded and eventually dissipated. My location is approximately 60 miles nw of Mt. Spur on Trail Lake. Mt. Spur itself was not visible due to the low cloud bank. I assume it was Mt. Spur as there is no other logical reason for such an event in that area to my knowledge. ---------------------------------------------------------------- REMOTE IP ADDRESS: 127.0.0.1 USER AGENT/BROWSER: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/32.0.1700.76 Safari/537.36 REFERRING PAGE: http://www.avo.alaska.edu/contact.php
