Hi Marianne, Thank you for the report. Under certain atmospheric and lighting conditions, the steam from the fumaroles at Iliamna volcano can be mistaken for ash emission. Here's an example of what the active fumaroles look like: http://www.avo.alaska.edu/images/image.php?id=90601 AVO detected no anomalous seismicity or other indications of unusual volcanic activity at Iliamna yesterday. Thank you again for taking the time to submit the report. -Janet -------- Marianne Schlegelmilch wrote: Somebody just called into 620 am radio flea market in Homer and wanted to know if anyone else saw an ash cloud come out of Iliamna yesterday. He said he lives with a direct view of the volcano. He said the ash was not steam and came out of four vents. I thought somebody should make you aware of this and I didn't see it, so just telling you what he said on the air. I am at mlswds@gci.net
