Hello Mark - Thank you very much for your kind words of support! We do appreciate it. It was an odd juxtaposition for us - drafting the paragraphs about our 25th anniversary while also writing statements about not being able to maintain three volcano seismic networks (we've had funding losses for multiple years now.) Sincerely, Cheryl Cameron -------- Mark Donaghey wrote: A belated congrats to everyone at AVO on 25 years of doing what one ex-"rising star" of the Republican Party called "something called 'volcano monitoring'"! Your work, of course, is vital to the protection of human life in and in transit over Alaska and for keeping transportation networks in the entire northwestern section of North America and Eastern Asia safe. The AVO provides invaluable opportunities for continual real-time scientific research on Alaska's many active volcanoes. The AVO website is a wonderful educational tool for the general public - even those of us who, like Bobby Jindal, don't live in states with an active volcano inside our borders! You can be sure that the scientifically literate citizens of the world will always - financially and politically - support the work you do.
