Good Morning, Mr. Bassett, Thank you for the report. Your timing is excellent, as we have an AVO geology group on the island right now. They inspected the area you reported and did not find any sign of new ash, but some melting snow areas that might have exposed dirty snow or ground underneath for the darker area you saw. Our geophysics team didn't see anything in seismic or satellite data, and they are monitoring closely while other colleagues are on the island. We always appreciate pilot reports, and encourage you to keep sending them when you see something. Thank you again, -AVO Mt Augustine had a small eruption yesterday with visible new ash on the west facing slopes and black snow that wasnt there yesterday. I flew over Augustine yesterday 15min prior to the eruption and again today. There are visible diferences on the snow and west flanks. Respectfully, Lance Bassett
