Hi Nikolina, Thanks for reaching out. If you'd like to go for a hiking/climbing trip on one of Alaska's volcanoes, you should first check with the land manager (BLM, Alaska state land, National Parks Service, etc) for your particular destination to see if there are any restrictions on access. For example, here's the FAQ page for backcountry hiking in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, which includes several of our volcanoes: https://www.nps.gov/wrst/planyourvisit/backcountry-faqs.htm. Please keep in mind that backcountry hiking/climbing in Alaska in general can be dangerous and rescue may not be reachable or can take a very long time, so make sure you are adequately prepared with the proper knowledge and equipment. Finally, if you want to take a trip to one of our active volcanoes (check the volcanoes shown on our homepage https://www.avo.alaska.edu/), please contact us with your plans, what days you are going on the trip, and a way for us to get in contact with you before you leave. Of course, travelling on or near a volcano can be dangerous, so you need to decide if the risk is acceptable to you. Some hazards can be present whether or not a volcano is erupting, and in the backcountry you may not receive warning before any eruption that might happen. Thank you, Alaska Volcano Observatory Hello, I wonder if it is allowed to go hiking on the volcano? If so, can you tell me which volcano it is possible to climb? Thank you! Kind Regards, Nikolina
