Hello Vanessa - We have a lot of Novarupta information available online. Novarupta is a plinian pyroclastic vent and dome plug. The 1912 eruption was composed of magma withdrawn from under Katmai and expelled at Novarupta - very little magma came out of the Katmai vent. https://www.avo.alaska.edu/volcanoes/volcinfo.php?volcname=Novarupta https://www.avo.alaska.edu/volcanoes/activity.php?volcname=Novarupta&eruptionid=456&page=basic There is an amazing amount of Novarupata informatio nin here, including details of the 1912 eruptive products: http://pubs.usgs.gov/pp/1791/ Thank you, Cheryl -------- Vanessa Duran wrote: Hi, I was wondering if someone would be able to give me some more information regarding Novarupta. I am doing some research on volcanoes for a geology course I am taking and have gotten somewhat confused about Novarupta. Can someone please confirm what type of volcano landform Novarupta is. I have found conflicting information about whether it is a dome, a composite or a product of Katmai. Also, the products of the 1912 eruption.
