Hello Phil - The SIGMET is for resuspended ash from the 1912 Novarupta/Katmai eruption, and is really a weather event, rather than a volcanological event. (There is no volcanic eruption or unrest currently ongoing in the Katmai area.) We do have information on the 1912 eruption here: https://www.avo.alaska.edu/volcanoes/activity.php?volcname=Novarupta&eruptionid=456&page=basic and https://www.avo.alaska.edu/Katmai2012/timeline.php Thank you, Cheryl -------- Phil Schaefer wrote: NOAA has an active SIGMET for a volcanic ash cloud in South West Alaska. http://aawu.arh.noaa.gov/sigmets/tmp/VASIGMET_JULIET_1.html I don't see anything about it on the AVO site? -- Cheryl Cameron Geologist, Alaska Volcano Observatory Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys voice: 907-451-5012 fax: 907-451-5050
