Hello Adrie - Yes, we visited the site for maintenance to the seismic station. The webcam lives inside a protective housing, with a protective plastic window. Without the plastic window, the webcam would be subject to the elements and fail quickly. The DFR cam's protective window has a scratch in it - but we were unable to cut a new piece of plastic before snagging the narrow budget and weather window for maintenance. A new plastic window is definitely on the list. Thank you, Cheryl -------- Adrie Jones wrote: Hi, I noticed there was a helicopter visit to the redoubt-dfr station today. There's been some screen obscuring the image (and collecting dirt, snow, ice) for a long time. Seeing the helicopter gave me hope that it would be fixed or removed, but no(bummed). Truly thanks for all you do but please fix that if that camera gets another rare visit. :) Thanks, aj -- Cheryl Cameron Geologist, Alaska Volcano Observatory Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys voice: 907-451-5012 fax: 907-451-5050
