[Public Email] volcano activity and moon position
--------------------------------------------------------------- The following message was sent to you via AVO Web Email System: --------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Barry Willis Email Address: banjobarry@hawaii.rr.com Subject: volcano activity and moon position Message: Sirs, I live in Hawaii--home of Kilauea. I have a theory that the moon's position affects the activity of the active lava. So, the closer the moon, the more influence on the lava and therefore the eruption potential. I can't find any study or discussion on this. So what I expect is that IF an eruption were to happen, it would be when the moon is closest to the earth (high tide, of course). Can you direct me to a source of information for this topic or answer it?
