Hello Jennifer - With every image in our database, you'll see a referenced "Credit line" and "Use restrictions" - the credit line is how the image should be credited within another use of the image, and the use restrictions will show if there are any restrictions to other people or groups using the image. Most of our images are taken by government employees and are thus public domain, and the use restriction reads "Please cite the photographer and the Alaska Volcano Observatory...." There is also a "full resolution" link with each image. Clicking this will give you the image at the largest resolution we have for that image. Thank you, Cheryl Cameron -------- Jennifer Atkins wrote: Hello, I am looking for a photo of a volcano as island for an intro geology textbook and I see some photos here on the website. I cannot figure out if these photos are public domain or not as they are credited to photographers. Can you tell me if there are any images that are in the public domain that would fit this decription that we could use? Or, can you help with contact information of the photographers to obtain permission? Thanks!
