Hello Barbara - It could very well be from Veniaminof - there was at least a small ash emission last night, which was visible to pilots and people in Port Moller. The FAA's webcam in Perryville is still down. Thank you for sending your observations - they are appreciated. By "smoke visible" do you mean ash is falling in Port Heiden? Ashfall resources: http://volcanoes.usgs.gov/ash/ http://www.avo.alaska.edu/ashfall.php http://pafc.arh.noaa.gov/volcano.php If you experience ashfall, please report via our new "Is Ash Falling" webform - http://www.avo.alaska.edu/ashfall/ashreport.php . Thank you! -Cheryl -------- Barbara o'Domin wrote: Smoke visible here in Port Heiden -- Cheryl Cameron Geologist, Alaska Volcano Observatory Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys voice: 907-451-5012 fax: 907-451-5050
