Hello Ruth! DUT and back in one day - plenty of flying! We would love to see your photographs. Please email them to me, along with the approximate time(s) you took them and whether or not we have permission to post on our public website. The volcano near Dutch/Unalaska is Cleveland, and the other (on the peninsula) is Pavlof. We actually don't have any images yet of this most recent eruption of Cleveland - whateve ryou have is most appreciated. Thank you! -cheryl -------- Ruth Carter wrote: I flew Anchorage to Dutch Harbor (DUT) and back yesterday. I observed two active volcanoes. One nearer to DUT; the other I believe is Pavlov with a much larger and more active eruption. I took a few photographs and could send them, if they're worthwhile. Images aren't great due to foggy airplane windows, but might be useful? PLease let me know. -- Cheryl Cameron Geologist, Alaska Volcano Observatory Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys voice: 907-451-5012 fax: 907-451-5050
