Redoubt has been very quiet for some time, with no noticeable steam, unlike the situation for a year or so after the last eruption. But as of today, there is lots of steam coming out of the vent. I don't see any change in seismic activity so am wondering what is causing this. Maybe a big avalanche from the summit down into the vent?
