I have been following this website and subscribed to email alerts for several years now, and I really find this work fascinating. I received my Bachelor's degree in Geology in 2014, and my Master's in Geology this past August. Both of these degrees were focused on volcanology. I have wanted to work at a volcano observatory for as long as I knew they existed. Since HVO is the only US observatory that offers internship opportunities, I would be really interested in speaking with someone about other available options for getting a foot in the door. I also understand that there is not a very high demand for new employees in the field at this time, but I would be willing to start anywhere. I am happy to provide more information about myself and my field experience if I am contacted, and I really hope I am. As a young Geologist, I am looking for somewhere to start a career and as fanciful as working in a volcano observatory seems, it is what I keep coming back to.
