Re: Use of your spectro sites by a Youtuber to get money
Hi Kathryn - Thank you for letting us know about his channel. The data he is using is free, public data - he is able to put it on a youtube channel and ask for donations if he wants to. As he clearly states where the data comes from, there's not a lot we can do. But it is good to know about. Thanks, Cheryl Cameron -------- Kathryn Triplett wrote: There is a site called Spectronet on You Tube. The guy calls himself Spectro Scotty. He has compiled live spectrogram feeds from you, USGS, YVO ect... and he is using it to make money. He bilked me for donations and when you can't pay anymore he becomes rude. I and many others were conned into donating but it seems like this is free public information and he shouldn't be using you to make money for himself to buy equipment and take trips. I hope you can put a stop to this scammer. Thank you -- Cheryl Cameron Geologist, Alaska Volcano Observatory Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys voice: 907-451-5012 fax: 907-451-5050
