Hello Julie - Yes, we would really like to see your photographs. Shishaldin has active fumaroles as well as a small amount of fresh lava in its summit crater, and you likely saw vapor from these sources. You can send photos to me at cheryl.cameron@alaska.gov May we post your images on our public websites, or would you like us to keep them internal only? Thank you! -cheryl -------- Julie Allan wrote: AVO's report for Shishaldin from yesterday (6/2/14) said that "Views of the volcano by web camera were mostly obscured by clouds in the last 24 hours although several clear images showed no activity." While on a boat traveling from Cold Bay to Sanak Island on 6/2/14, I took two pictures around 3:00 pm that show smoke coming off Shishaldin. I can email pictures if you'd like to see them. --Julie Allan -- Cheryl Cameron Geologist, Alaska Volcano Observatory Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys voice: 907-451-5012 fax: 907-451-5050
