[Public Email] remote field station data transmission (winter telemetry)
--------------------------------------------------------------- The following message was sent to you via AVO Web Email System: --------------------------------------------------------------- Name: John Lee Email Address: kt6e@yahoo.com Subject: remote field station data transmission (winter telemetry) Message: Have you solved weather (ice & snow) related problems with data transmission due to freeze up of your outdoor antenna systems? I am retired from the Earthquake Science Center, Menlo Park, CA. We had many weather related data drops from our remote seismic station located in Mammoth Lakes, CA. It is a Vsat system in which the 3M dish would freeze up with snow and ice, eventually blocking the signal. We devised a passive system that protects the dish and horn from signal blocking ice and snow, delivering realtime data at a success rate of 99% 24/7 all winter. Interested? ---------------------------------------------------------------- REMOTE IP ADDRESS: 174.214.31.242 USER AGENT/BROWSER: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/72.0.3626.119 Safari/537.36 REFERRING PAGE: https://avo.alaska.edu/contact.php
