Hello Alana - AVO does not have a formal volunteer program. If you're interested in truly volunteering (you provide your own housing, transportation, food), you can email AVO staff people whose research interests align with yours, and see if they are interested. Here is our staff listing: https://www.avo.alaska.edu/about/staff.php# HVO in Hawaii has a well-developed volunteer program (with housing for a few lucky folks!), and the Katmai/Kamchatka field school is an excellent opportunity for beginning volcanologists. Best wishes on your studies, Cheryl -------- Alana Weir wrote: Hi there, I have recently graduated from the University of Bristol, UK, with a Geology BSc, and I am about to undertake a Volcanology MSc, again at Bristol. I was hoping you may have some volunteering opportunities at the AVO. I am particularly interested in volunteering after Sept 2015 (I know, very far in the future!) but am open to other suggestions, Thank you for your time, Alana -- Cheryl Cameron Geologist, Alaska Volcano Observatory Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys voice: 907-451-5012 fax: 907-451-5050
