Re: Volcano Webcam footage for Student Film
Hello Thorhanna, Yes, you can use our webcam images for your filmwork. Thank you, Cheryl Cameron -------- Thorhanna Omarsdottir wrote: Hi, My name is Thorhanna Inga Omarsdottir. I am a student at Savannah College of Art and Design. I am currently producing a senior thesis short film, Views, for my fellow student, Giulia Jimenez. "VIEWS" is a short film about Lani who goes to an emerging volcanic island near Iceland to see the lava for herself. Being set on a volcano, it's a story about the need for human connection and finding self-fullfilment. We are so passionate about this script, and after seeing your Webcams, especially https://avo.alaska.edu/webcam/webcam_multi.php?cam%5B%5D=Redoubt+-+Hut&cam%5B%5D=Redoubt+-+CI&cam%5B%5D=Redoubt+-+DFR&refresh=1&size=large, we were really excited to find something that fits Giulia's vision so well. We were wondering if we might use some of that footage in our student film? We would of course credit Alaska Volcano Observatory. This film is one of the top films in the SCAD senior capstone project, and with as many international participants (Venezuelan, French, Icelandic), this film is going to go to festivals around the world. We hope that you would like to be part of this proaction. Thank you so much and I'm looking forward to hear back, Thorhanna -- Cheryl Cameron Geologist, Alaska Volcano Observatory Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys voice: 907-451-5012 fax: 907-451-5050
