HI,
Thanks for the reply. I am looking for just some general questions mostly.
A few questions would be about the person's job and some more 'fluffy' ones
about what they like best about their jobs, and the most difficult thing
being a geologist studying volcanoes. For AVO specifically, I want to ask:
- What do you think is unique about the volcanoes in Alaska compared to
volcanoes in other parts of the United States or world?
- What do you think is the biggest misconception about volcanoes in
Alaska?
- Why don't you think the Novarupta eruption is more well known?
- How do you explain a pyroclastic flow to someone who knows nothing
about them?
- What scares you the most about volcanoes in Alaska? Is there a volcano
you worry the most about?
- What is something that you wish everyone knew about volcanoes, the
AVO, or volcanoes in Alaska?
I hope that helps--let me know if there is anything else you might want
from me.
Much appreciated,
Bryanna

Hi Bryanna -
In order to better direct you to a specific person, could you list a few of the specific questions you intend to ask?
Thank you! cheryl
Hello,
I am looking to conduct an interview with a volcanologist at AVO with some general questions about Alaskan volcanoes. I worked as a ranger in Katmai in 2014 and am now finishing a book about traveling to volcanoes around the world. I would like to talk to a scientist on the record to make sure I have the story of these volcanoes correct and to possibly use their answers as quotes in the book. I would like to set up a phone or Zoom call if possible.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely, Bryanna Plog
